Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This week God enabled us to open Trinity Biblical Institute in Kigale, Rwanda. It is exciting to see our new students ready to learn from the Scriptures and growing spiritually.
As you can see, God has done great things. We continue to press forward on our mission, which includes starting Bible Colleges in 11 countries of Central Africa. We now have 3 branches of TBI in Uganda, one in South Sudan, one in Kenya, and one in Rwanda. We also have coordinators in 11 countries, a core group in Congo, and great interest in Tanzania and Burundi. God continues to open doors throughout Central Africa.
We are halfway toward our goal. It could take another five years to complete our mission and have a network of Bible Colleges that stretches across Central Africa. I see this work as the most important and most difficult challenge of my life. In reality, it is God’s work and He is using many of His people and churches in partnership to accomplish the mission He has given. There are six reasons that we focus on this ministry: 1) Our students are starting churches where we could never go and at a faster pace.
2) We believe the next great missionary movement will come out of Africa. 3) In some areas, there is only one trained pastor for every 450,000 people. 4) We believe that providing excellent theological education is the greatest need in Africa today. 5) Islam in Africa continues to be a growing threat. Much of North Africa has been lost. Now is a strategic time and we are in a strategic place to go forward with the gospel. 6) If we complete this mission, several unreached people groups could be reached with the gospel.
The end of the year is coming, and as we look to 2018, we will need to expand our base of partners in this work. To reach the remaining open countries of Central Africa, we will need to double our income over the next five years. Would you pray about becoming a partner and investing in this work?
Each year, we receive about thirty percent of our funding in November and December. The needs have never been so great as we start moving west across the middle of Africa. If you can give a gift toward these needs, mail it to Trinity Center for World Mission; P.O. Box 580; Dahlonega, GA 30533 or you can donate online. TCWM is a 501(c)(3) organization.
My team will be in Central Africa for three more weeks. Charlie King, our board president, will be here until December 22. Please read his letter.
May His Kingdom come,
Peter W. Anderson
Executive Director
