Every Gift Matters
June 25, 2020
Dear Partners in the Gospel,
Thank you for your love for the Gospel and for needy brothers and sisters you have never seen.
During the last three months all of us have been tested. Sometimes we have felt overwhelmed. In the midst of this pandemic, many of you have given financially and we have passed on those gifts to our students and neighbors in Africa. Thank you so much. The sick have received care, the hungry have received food, and the Gospel has been shared.
Our response to this pandemic is taken from Ephesians 5: 15-16, “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.” We are making the best use of our time. We are ministering to the needy and preparing for the day when our teaching centers will open in Rwanda, Kenya, and Uganda.
Our greatest challenge is this: We have given away our stockpile of food (a few thousand pounds of corn, flour, beans, and rice) and our medical supplies have run short. Now we must replenish these supplies. During this pandemic, we have continued to pay our employees and we have tried to help with the health needs of our students and the churches we helped plant. We have also helped meet the needs of orphans and families that have experienced the death of loved ones. People seem desperate; our treasurer was robbed of everything in his home even though he was gone a short time. Your gifts have enabled us to help him and many others.
We are encouraging believers in Africa to share what they have with those who have nothing to eat. Most of the patients at our clinic are unable to pay, but we do our best to treat them.
Your prayers and financial help are greatly needed. Let us all with joy show the love of Christ to the vulnerable.
